I love Grand Rapids and all it has to offer with local music, so I decided why not feature local bands here on wgrd.com! Today's featured A Hero Falls, they answered a few questions for me below! Check them out, and if you're in a local band who wants to be featured fill out this form.  I don’t just feature anyone, so don’t suck and you’ll get the Jackie stamp of approval ;) Find me on facebook too, to follow all your favorite local bands, and GRD news by clicking HERE

Band Name
A Hero Falls
Who are all the members of your band, and what do they play?
April - Vocals
Ryan - Guitar
Kenny - Guitar
Jake - Bass
Daniel - Drums
When did the band get together, and how?
We have been in the same band together since before Junior High for most of us. We went through various phases like being a cover band, being a metal band, and finally being ourselves. A Hero Falls is what we have been calling the band since about 2008. April, Kenny, and Jake are family and Daniel and I (Ryan) have become family.
BIO:
We started our band, A Hero Falls, as a way for us to create the music that we want to hear. We write about experiences we’ve had, ideas that are relatable, and the people that are important to us. You could describe us as alternative rock or pop punk and maybe even a little indie. Our sound is a combination of female lead vocals, dual guitar riffs, catchy rhythms, and a mixture of different influences. We aren’t a band with a gimmick, or a band with a political agenda, we just love music. Our home is anywhere between Detroit and Lansing.

Our EP, Stable Ground, was released in June of 2011. Since then, we have been featured by The Basement – Impact 88.9 FM, WCOM 103.5 FM, WDET 101.9-2 HD, WXOU 88.3 FM, The Livingston Daily, Examiner.com, Kzoomusicscene.com, Radio-Opie, Howell Main Four, MichiganBands.com, and others.

We are currently working on our first full-length album with Mat Halliday. You can keep up to date by watching our web-series AHF: Making an Album produced by Derrick Gainsforth.
The name, A Hero Falls, is from a music video by John Williams.
How would you describe your music to someone?
Our music is happy, energetic, and catchy. It's in the pop-punk / alt-rock genre but, we do have some indie sounding slow songs as well. With a girl lead singer, people usually say we sound like Paramore or No Doubt.
Who are some of the bands that influence your music?
Bayside, A Day To Remember, Avenged Sevenfold, John Mayer, All Time Low, Escape The Fate, Paramore, The Swellers
What other bands have your members been/are in?
