Did you know that Grand Rapids City Parks remain open in the wintertime?

The City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation department plows and maintains parking lots and multi-use trails at several popular parks, and parks with closed gates are still open daily from dawn to dusk for pedestrians.

Winter Fun Activities at Grand Rapids Parks

The ice skating season at Rosa Parks Circle has begun! The rink at 135 Monroe Center St. NW is open daily, weather permitting, through February 22.

Those wanting to ice skate can walk-up or reserve skate times online. There are 50 reserved spots. One person can reserve a skate time for up to six household members

Cost to skate at Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink is $3 for those 17 and younger, and $6 for adults 18 and older. Skate rental is included with admission. Skate sizes range from 8 toddler through men's 15.

The Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department also offers winter activities Indian Trails Golf Course like cross country skiing, snowshoeing and fat tire biking when the weather is permitting.

Snowshoes and fat tire bikes are available to rent. Visitors must bring their own skis. The clubhouse is open daily for warming up by the fire and buying some hot cocoa. Check out hours, admission prices and trail maps here.
