Grand Rapids Makes ‘Most Underrated Cities in U.S.’ List

Grand Rapids has been making lots of lists! We're the reigning Beer City USA, USA Today crowned GR “America’s Best Beer Town” in 2014, and in 2015 Groupon named GR the Best City to Visit in the U.S.

But maybe Grand Rapids still isn't getting as much recognition as some bigger cities.

Buzzfeed put it out there that it seems like the same places--New York, L.A., San Francisco--  steal the spotlight all the time. So they asked people what other cities are totally awesome and deserve to be hyped too? Grand Rapids made the list!

Grand Rapids shows up as number 10 on Buzzfeed's list of "34 Underrated Cities You'll Actually Want To Move To".

Buzzfeed user Rae gave GR props:

“Grand Rapids has a big-city feel with small-town Midwestern politeness. ArtPrize, an annual art competition that takes across the entire city, is one of the coolest events you’ll ever find. Plus, there are award-winning medical centers in the city, and Lake Michigan is only a short drive away,"

Another Michigan city made the list too: Detroit came in at number 2.
