9 cities in Michigan made the 250 Best Cities for Pizza list but you may be surprised where some of the cities landed on the list.

Rochester Hills

Rochester Hills is a suburb of Detroit and landed at 236 on the list of the 250 Best Cities for Pizza in America.

Detroit

Detroit was the real shocker on this list. Detroit came in at number 210 on the list. I thought surely that Motown would be much higher on the list like Chicago and New York. Michiganders have heard about Detroit-style pizza for the past 100 years on top of some of the biggest pizza chains like Little Caesars, Dominoes, Jets, and Hungry Howies all come from Detroit.

Troy

Troy is another superb of Detroit and maybe since the list broke down suburbs into individual cities, that is why the Motor City fell so far down on the list. Troy landed at 185.

Farmington Hills

I spent a lot of time in the Detroit area and all its suburbs and never once heard about Farmington Hills and their pizza but the city came up at 166 on the list.

Lansing

I have heard about and ate some pretty solid Pizza in Lansing. The Cosmos Wood-Fired Pizza is top-notch "Za" helping make Lansing 162 on the list.

Dearborn

Dearborn is another suburb of Detroit and they have some great pizza that comes from Joe and Reno's as well as Dearborn Pizza named after the city. Dearborn was much further up on the list than its predecessors at 128.

Warren

Warren is another city close to Detroit but it landed in the top 50 for best pizza cities with an official ranking of 47. Petey's Pizza is a great stop if you are near the area craving some za.

Wyoming

Wyoming is the first West Michigan city to show up on the list at 43. Frankie V's Sicilian Pizza and Grill makes a great pie and there are lots of great choices in Wyoming like Faro's, Roberto's, Palmero, and Russo's

Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids ranked the highest of all Michigan cities that made the 250 Best Pizza Cities in America coming in at 30. Maybe it's the great beer that goes with great pizza in Grand Rapids but there is no shortage of places to get a great slice in Beer City USA. Peppinos downtown is legendary for their za. There are other great choices like Quarantino's, Andrea's, Big Bob's, JB's, Geno's Pizza Westside, and I could go on. Grand Rapids has been the leader for craft beer for years and the rest of the country better watch out because we are creeping up on the list of best cities for pizza.
