BYOB

I had never heard of BYOB at Michigan restaurants or clubs, but had heard of it in Kentucky and Tennessee.
A lot of my family is from Kentucky and grew up on the east side of the state, where the county was dry, meaning there were no alcohol sales. My uncle played in bands, and my Dad and I would see them play. I noticed the brown bags under the table and was told that if the patron buys the venue sodas and uses their cups, they could bring a bottle of their favorite mixer. I saw something similar in Tennessee when I was in my 20s.
