A Grand Rapids steak and whiskey joint just missed making Yelp’s top ten restaurants of 2026. When you consider the list ranks the 100 best eateries in the entire country, it is still quite the honor!

This West Side restaurant is no stranger to national recognition. Last fall it was named the best steakhouse in Michigan by Tasting Table. Prior to that, 24/7 Tempo crowned it the No. 1 brunch restaurant in that state.

And now it's being recognized by Yelp! Yelp’s 13th annual "100 Best Restaurants" list is all about the people who actually eat at them. From fine dining and diners to fast-casual favorites and food halls, it highlights the highest-reviewed restaurants across the U.S. These are the restaurants serving drool-worthy, can’t-miss meals that keep diners coming back.

Butcher's Union, A Grand Rapids Favorite

First opening on Bridge Street back in 2017, Butcher’s Union is a gastropub that blends modern style with Midwestern warmth. The menu leans heavily on meat, featuring steaks like New York strip, ribeye, hanger steak, and premium Wagyu cuts. But steak is far from the only draw. Diners can also enjoy bacon-wrapped meatloaf, chicken and seafood entrees, burgers, sandwiches, soups, and salads.
