Can you even believe it's almost 2026?! Well, if you're looking for a new restaurant to try in the new year, you're in luck. More than 40 new eateries opened across West Michigan in 2025, adding fresh energy to the region’s dining scene.

While some longtime favorites closed their doors this year, the overall restaurant scene remained busy and ever-evolving. From Grand Rapids to Muskegon, Wyoming to Holland, Hudsonville and beyond, new spots popped up offering everything from quick bites to indulgent sit-down meals.

Fast food, in particular, had a big moment in 2025. The year saw the return of Hot ’N Now, along with West Michigan’s first-ever Raising Cane’s location—with more already on the way.

More New Restaurants Coming to West Michigan in 2026

Raising Canes opened on 28th Street in Kentwood in Nov. 2025. The next new restaurants will open up in Grandville and Walker sometime in 2026.

Meanwhile, a new country-rock bar is set to open this February in the former Turnstiles space in Grand Rapids.

2026 will also bring the return of K-Pocha, an Asian street food restaurant that closed earlier this year and is planning a comeback in Grand Rapids. (Don't want to wait? A new location is already open in Holland.)
