Why do people want to eat and drink gluten-free? Gluten can cause damage to your intestines that leads to gas, bloating, and irregular bowel movements. Gluten can also cause headaches, trouble concentrating, fatigue, and malnutrition.

Avoiding celiac disease is the main reason some people choose to eat gluten-free. Celiac disease causes inflammation in the small intestine and makes it hard for the body to absorb nutrients in food.

In general, people who eat and drink gluten-free all say they feel better and have more energy.

According to FOX 17, Stricklen hired beermaker Nick LaVelle who said, "I'm not doing anything weird or special to it in order to make it gluten-free. I'm just using gluten-free ingredients to make regular beer."

Brewery Nyx is still going through the licensing process with the state of Michigan but hopefully, in the next few months, they will open their doors so all of West Michigan can enjoy an ice-cold gluten-free beer at the only taproom of its kind in the state.
