As 2020 comes to a close, many of us are looking to 2021 with hope for a brighter tomorrow. You might be inclined to slap some paint on your walls to elevate your mood. What color would you choose to match your optimism?

The Pantone Color Institute has some suggestions. They are the color authority in the design industry. They revealed their color choice for 2021. Next year actually has 2 colors, Ultimate Gray and Illuminating Yellow! The Pantone Color Institute says these hues reflect feelings of strength and hopefulness. They claim the choices are enduring and uplifting.

The Pantone Color of the Year reflects what is taking place in our global culture, expressing what people are looking for that color can hope to answer. As society continues to recognize color as a critical form of communication, and a way to symbolize thoughts and ideas, many designers and brands are embracing the language of color to engage and connect.

For 22 years, Pantone has been selecting the color of the year. They take into consideration lifestyles, playstyles, and socio-economic conditions. They look for influences in the film industry, fashion, travel, art and design. If you'd like to see the Adobe Stock/ Pantone Ultimate Gray and Illuminating gallery: click here.
