Hulk Hogan was the most popular wrestler in the 80s but is considered one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.  Do you remember Hulkamania? I sure do and it was one of the most fun times for wrestling fans.

Hogan's career boomed and he began an extensive acting career making a cameo in Rocky III with Sylvester Stallone. Hogan starred in films like No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, and Mr. Nanny.

As successful as Hulk Hogan became, success also came with trouble. There was a lawsuit in 1985 with an interviewer who asked Hogan to put him in a modified Guillotine choke which caused the man to pass out and then hit his head on the floor. The man sued Hogan for $5 million which was later settled out of court.

In 1994, there was a steroid controversy Hogan had to testify on Vince McMahon's behalf. In 2012 there was the Gawker lawsuit which released a sex tape of Hogan and a radio personality's wife  This led to Hogan filing a lawsuit for 100 million dollars which he won sighting defamation, loss of privacy, and emotional pair.  Gawker eventually settled and paid Hogan $31 million.

There were a lot of other controversies involving Hulk Hogan and maybe that is why social media is in an uproar over him visiting Michigan to meet with fans.
