Slayer are coming out with a new album this year. While it doesn’t have a title or a release date yet, it has been guaranteed to make Slayer fans ‘sh-t their pants,’ so says Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt, who recently recorded his parts for the new disc, adding that Kerry King “wrote the whole record and that it’s phenomenal.”

In an interview with ESP Guitars during Namm 2015 (watch above), Holt discussed the album further, saying, "It's been an honor to watch that guy [King] work as hard as he does. People don't understand how much he lives, breathes and bleeds for Slayer and he, through all the adversity, has really made a monster record.” He went on to promise, “and when people are gonna hear it, they're gonna s--t their pants. I mean, all I had to do was go in and just play fast and grab a whammy bar a bunch of times, and that was it."

Last month, Holt spoke with Sirius XM’s ‘Liquid Metal’ show about the new Slayer disc, as compared to the track, ‘Implode,’ which they released in 2014. He had this to say, ‘”Implode’ is a great song. I really love it. It’s a lot of fun to play. Compared to the other stuff Kerry [King] has written, it’s nothing. Doesn’t even touch it.”

During the Q&A in the clip above, Holt was also asked about the latest Exodus album, ‘Blood In Blood Out.’ Holt stated, “I wrote most of [the Exodus album.] What is there? Eleven songs on the album? I wrote nine of them. I tend to write really fast.” He explained that his bandmate, “Lee [Atlus] writes some the best stuff, but he writes slowly. He says my riffs are like moonshine and his stuff is like fine wine.” ‘Blood In, Blood Out’ came out in October of 2014.

Slayer have been confirmed as headliners for this year's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this June. They'll share the stage with Against Me!, Between the Buried and Me, Royal Blood and more. They'll be releasing their new effort sometime this year.
