Florida State University Student Saved from Gunman’s Shooting By Book Stopping Bullet

Early Thursday, a shooter opened fire at Florida State University's main library in Tallahassee, Fla., wounding three people. The gunman was shot and killed by police.

Amid that terror and confusion, one student, Jason Derfuss, narrowly escaped harm. He didn't realize later, until he checked the contents of his book bag, how close he had come to being shot.
