Drive Through More Than 120K Holiday Lights at ‘Spring Lake Sparkle’
Spring Lake is twinkling with holiday cheer! New this year, the "Spring Lake Sparkle" has lit up the downtown corridor with more than 120,000 Christmas lights.
Kicking off Friday, Nov. 27 and running through Jan. 3, multi-colored are lighting up the trees lining Savidge Street between Division and Buchanan, as well as the buildings along Savidge.
According to the Grand Haven Tribune, traffic was stop-and-go Friday night as visitors drove through the festive display. Folks on foot were offered 3D glasses, which make the lights look like various Christmas-themed items.
Spring Lake Sparkle organizers say they have decided to postpone the Saturday night events they had panned until next year to keep the community safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Commemorative Spring Lake Sparkle ornaments can be purchased for $10 at Five Star Real Estate Saturday’s from 5-9pm and during the week when open. Organizers say more locations will be selling them soon.
According to VisitGrandHaven.com Spring Lake Sparkle is sponsored by the Lilly Cares Foundation Spring Lake. They also say that any non perishable food items and winter clothing in good condition will be accepted and donated to The People Center in Spring Lake at various locations within the Festival.
