For almost a decade, Detroit City Distillery has been taking the Mitten State’s favorite Polish treat to a whole new level with their Paczki Day Vodka. It is back for 2026, just in time for Fat Tuesday.

They take real Hamtramck paczki and distill them in a blend of Michigan and Polish potato vodka. The result is a drinkable version of your favorite donut. It is smooth, sweet, and designed to showcase the authentic taste of handmade, glazed raspberry pączki from Hamtramck.

The vodka went on sale Friday, January 30 at 8 a.m. at the distillery’s Eastern Market Tasting Room, online for pickup, and at select liquor stores across Michigan. The 2026 lineup includes:

  • Raspberry Paczki Day Vodka – the original fan favorite
  • Orange Cream Paczki Day Vodka – a citrus twist on the classic
  • Home Town Poland X Detroit Vodka – a brand-new Michigan-made blend

Each bottle is $35. You can sip it straight, pour it over ice, mix it into a cocktail, or use it as a proper paczki chaser. Fans have made it a once-a-year must-have, and bottles are known to sell out fast.

If you want to go full Fat Tuesday, Detroit City Distillery will host its annual Paczki Day Party on February 14 at the new 100 Proof event space. There will be live music, Polish food, drinks, and plenty of paczki-themed chaos. It's free, but of course you do need to be 21 to enjoy any adult beverages, paczki-flavored or otherwise.
