Want To Dine With Jesus? You Can In Michigan
Can you imagine sitting at the dinner table with Jesus? Believe it or not, it is a meal that can happen in Michigan.
The Last Supper
Even if you are not a religious person, the Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci is probably one of the most famous and recognizable in the world.
There have been several renditions of Da Vinci's Last Supper painting by other artists and even statues created like the one above by sculptor Felix Lucero that is located at the Garden of Gethsemane in Tucson, Arizona.
Can you imagine the conversation that went on with Jesus and his disciples at the table of the Last Super? What would you ask Jesus if you were at that table? What if I told you there is a place in Michigan where you can sit at the table and dine with Jesus?
Dine With Jesus In Michigan
Serenity Court is located in Brighton, Michigan, and is overlooking the cemetery of the Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church.
There are 12 seats that wrap around this table of polished concrete, stone, and glass that surround a bronze statue of Jesus that was created by sculptor Timothy P. Schmalz.
The Holy Spirit Catholic Church commissioned the bronze statue of Jesus, the table, and 12 stools in order to allow people to dine with Jesus. You can decide what meal you bring to enjoy the outdoors and say "Hello My Lord" but it has to be during the hours of 1 p.m. to midnight from April through October. Feel free to bring 11 friends and they can argue over who gets stuck sitting in Judas's chair.
You don't have to be a Catholic to stop and enjoy the beauty of the statue and its location. Your visit is absolutely free the way I'm pretty sure Jesus would have wanted it to be.
