DTW Is Allowing Non-Ticketed Visitors Beyond Security Checkpoint

Detroit Metro Airport is extending their program of allowing select non-ticketed visitors through the security checkpoint and up to the terminal. The program currently only allows 75 people to pass through security without a ticket each day, but due to its popularity it might be expanded in the future.

The program originally launched in October of 2019 and has now been extended through the foreseeable future. Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) was the third airport in the nation to start allowing non-ticketed visitors beyond the security check after Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) started their programs earlier in the year.

The program requires visitors who wish to pass through security to apply for a pass on DTW's website. After applying, the applicant will be contacted and either approved or denied a pass. Visitors must still submit to the same rules and regulations that a ticketed passenger must.
