In the first five games of the season, Hutchinson had nineteen tackles, twelve were solo, seven were assists, and he had already racked up 7.5 sacks. Hutchinson had 4.5 sacks in the Tampa Bay game alone.
Then during the third quarter of the game against Dallas, Hutchinson was making a big play as he sacked Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott for a 6-yard loss when his leg collided with teammate Alim McNeill. Hutchinson was carted off the field with a broken tibia and fibula that forced him to undergo surgery in Dallas.

Lions Aidan Hutchinson Out For the Rest of the Season
Hutchinson will return to Detroit sometime this week. It is not all bad news with Hutchinson as he is expected to make a full recovery. I saw the video replay of the injury and you can see the leg snapped between the ankle and knee and then Prescott fell on the injured leg. It was obvious he was in extreme pain.
According to FOX 17, during the surgery, a rod was put in Hutchinson's leg to hold it together. There are a lot of factors in recovery that allow the bones to heal. The bones will take three to six months to heal, but rehab will be a huge part of getting his strength and mobility back so his full recovery could take even longer.
The type of injury Hutchinson received had players on both teams highly concerned for his well-being. Hutchinson is a fighter and has a long road ahead in order to be back on the field for next season.
