With the weather warming up, we're all looking for ways to keep cool-- even deer, apparently.

What I love about this video of a deer swimming in Lake Michigan is that's not some super-remote, wooded area like we picture deer hanging out in. This deer is taking a dip near Montrose Harbor in Chicago

DNAinfo shares the video, shot by a Chicago man Tuesday afternoon, who spotted the deer in the water near the harbor.

The man said the deer was in Lake Michigan for about 45 minutes and appeared to have some trouble getting up the rocks near the water's edge:

"After it fell down a few times, it didn't really want to do anything. We thought we were going to have to carry it up the rocks."

A group of people gathered to help the deer if needed, but the deer eventually make it out of the lake herself. She appeared unhurt and jumped over the fence of a nearby golf course.

Seth Magle, director of the Urban Wildlife Institute at the Lincoln Park Zoo, told DNAinfo that this kind of incident is rare, but it happens:

It’s not terribly common, but most deer species are strong swimmers. Animals have the ability to surprise us, especially when they’re put in an unusual environment, like an urban environment."
