Blanford Nature Center's Admission Free April
To help celebrate Earth Day coming up later this month, Grand Rapids' Blanford Nature Center is once again offering "Admission Free April"!
You can explore Blanford Nature Center's trails and Visitor Center at no cost from April 1st through the 30th
The month of free admission includes access to 264 acres of forests, meadows, and wetlands, 8 miles of trails including 1 mile of ADA accessible trails, 2 outdoor playscapes, the Blandford Farm and Children’s Garden, and their Wildlife Education Center with over 40 rehabilitated Wildlife Ambassadors.
As part of Admission Free April, Blanford Nature Center is also offering a bunch of free programs and activities throughout the month, including:
- Walking Groups
- Storytime with Different Wildlife Ambassadors
- Frog Walk Hike
- Deer Antler Workshop
- Compost Making Workshop
- Touchable Nature Artifacts with Wildlife Specialist
- Free Earth Day Events
What Animals are at Blanford Nature Center?
Blandford’s Wildlife Ambassadors permanently live at the Center due to severe injuries. The rescued animals help educate students and give families a close-up view not often seen in outdoor exploration.

- Hawks and Falcons
- Owls
- Flying Squirrel
- Domestic Rabbit
- Porcupine
- Turtles
- Goats
- Sheep
- Chickens
