There are plenty of options to have fun in the summer in West Michigan. If it's the beach you prefer there is P.J. Hoffmaster State Park, Grand Haven State Park, Muskegon State Park, and Holland State Park just to name a few.

For just about every beach in the region there is also camping, biking, hiking, hotels, restaurants, places to shop, and other activities for the kids within minutes of where you decide to vacation.

There are endless places for boating, jet skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, whether you have your own or there are plenty of places to rent what you need in the region as well.

The West Michigan Tourist Association just launched a photo contest that could earn you a Mackinac Island prize pack for 4 that includes:

• 2 free nights stay at the Chippewa Hotel.
• 4 Round-trip Ferry Tickets from Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry Company.
• Lunch for 4 at Hotel Iroquois.
• 4 Tickets to Fort Mackinac
• 2 Free Bike Rentals from Grand Hotel

The photo contest covers West Michigan and the western side of the state all the way to the Upper Peninsula. You have until July 28, 2023, to enter your photo. Public voting will begin on August 1 with 50 photos to choose from. Winners will be announced on August 18.
