Doesn't it feel nice when your friends from other sides of your life meet each other and instantly get along?

That's exactly how it feels to see two Grand Rapids staples teaming up to make something super sweet to sip while you're enjoying a taco (or three).

Basalt, tex-mex comfort food restaurant that is located on Wealthy Street, is known for their incredibly flavorful take on tacos, sandwiches, and brunch in general. But recently, they started to stock 'the fix', which is is their super sweet candy, not only in their own location, but on other shelves around West Michigan.

But now it's time to take it to the next level- They've joined forced with Speciation Artisan Ales to make a beer based on The Fix.

And their lovechild looks AMAZING

What does The Fix taste like?

This sour beer named The Fix is based on Basalt's beloved Dulces Enchilados candy. It is packed with peach, strawberry, watermelon, and lime. They suggest that you put a little tajin on the rim of your glass to truly enjoy all of the sweet, sour, and salty goodness.

When can I get The Fix?

The Fix is having a release party on Friday July 29th from 6-9pm at Speciation's taproom on Wealthy Street. Basalt will be on hand from 6-9pm slinging tacos and other goodies to go along with your pour, while they'll have a DJ keeping the party rolling from 8-11pm.

Have a sip and enjoy this friendship made in heaven and made for our tastebuds, too.
