New Bagel Shop Opening up on Grand Rapids West Side

After opening its first Grand Rapids location a few years ago, a bagel shop is set to open a second one soon!

Bagel Kitchen first opened at 228 Wealthy St SE in the fall of 2021.

Before moving into the storefront in East Grand Rapids, the owners sold their bagels to community members online and at shops around town. They also ran a bagel store in Costa Rica, which unfortunately they had to close in 2021 due to struggles during the pandemic.

The owners say their goal is,

To inspire a conscientious lifestyle one bagel at a time by creating experiences, partnerships and employment that challenge people to embrace environmental sustainability and the importance of giving back to their community.

Bagel Kitchen East Grand Rapids serves authentic, boiled, hand-rolled bagels. On their menu you'll find a variety of bagels: blueberry, garlic, everything, onion, cinnamon-raisin, rosemary salt, and more.

You can also order sandwiches, like the Gaslight: pulled pork, sautéed onions, and mozzarella cheese on a plain bagel; and the Manhattan: stacked ham, cheddar, and chive cream cheese on an onion bagel.

Another option is overnight oats.

For beverages you'll find coffee, tea, cappuccino, espresso, cold brew, lattes, peppermint hot chocolate, lemonade, and more.

They also have specials like bagel dogs and soups.

The owners recently shared the news they are opening up a new bagel shop at 450 Leonard Street!

They are currently renovating the space and it should be open by late fall/ early winter of this year.
