Bagel Kitchen Opens on Grand Rapids West Side

Hand-rolled, authentic bagels have come to Grand Rapids West Side! After opening its first Grand Rapids location a few years ago, a bagel shop has expanded with a second location.

Bagel Kitchen first opened at 228 Wealthy St SE in the fall of 2021.

Before moving into the storefront in East Grand Rapids, the owners sold their bagels to community members online and at shops around town.

The owners say their goal is, "to inspire a conscientious lifestyle one bagel at a time by creating experiences, partnerships and employment that challenge people to embrace environmental sustainability and the importance of giving back to their community."

The new Bagel Kitchen is located at 450 Leonard NW. It is currently in it's soft opening phase and hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30a.m. to 1p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 7:30a.m. to 1p.m.

A grand opening is scheduled for June 29th.

During this phase, they'll be adding to their menu daily.

Here are the offerings from their East Grand Rapids location you can likely expect at the new West Side location eventually:

Bagel Kitchen serves authentic, boiled, hand-rolled bagels. On their menu you'll find a variety of bagels: blueberry, garlic, everything, onion, cinnamon-raisin, rosemary salt, and more.

You can also order sandwiches, like the Gaslight: pulled pork, sautéed onions, and mozzarella cheese on a plain bagel; and the Manhattan: stacked ham, cheddar, and chive cream cheese on an onion bagel.

For beverages you'll find coffee, tea, cappuccino, espresso, cold brew, lattes, peppermint hot chocolate, lemonade, and more.

At their East Grand Rapids location they've been know to offer specials like bagel dogs and soups.

A special they are running for the West Side eatery through June 14 is buy a baker’s dozen with 8oz cream cheese and receive a free hot or iced latte.
