It seems pretty silly that anyone would bother with releasing a green band trailer for Bad Santa 2 — it’s not as if this movie is for people who aren’t aware of what they’re getting into. The whole selling point is Billy Bob Thornton as a booze-drenched, foul-mouthed and utterly despicable (that’s seriously an understatement) crook who dresses up as Santa. Any pretense of propriety has been dropped with the release of the second red band trailer which is, somehow, more crass than the first.

The new trailer introduces us to Willie’s equally foul-mouthed mother, Sunny Sokes, played by Kathy Bates (who, it should be noted, is only seven years older than Thornton). Yes, there’s more impropriety and profanity and plenty of offensive jokes targeted at, well, every group imaginable — and I’m sure this trailer barely skims the surface. But there’s also a really gross moment when Thornton meets a new love interest, played by Christina Hendricks. It happens at the 50-second mark, when Thornton makes a not-so-under-the-breath comment about her vagina.

Just in case you weren’t clear about what this movie is, there you have it.

Also returning from the original film are Tony Cox as Willie’s sidekick, Marcus, and Brett Kelly as The Kid:

BAD SANTA 2 returns Academy Award®-winner BILLY BOB THORNTON to the screen as America’s favorite anti-hero, Willie Soke. Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus (TONY COX), to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Along for the ride is ‘the kid’ – chubby and cheery Thurman Merman (BRETT KELLY), a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie’s sliver of humanity.

Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Academy Award®, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner KATHY BATES, as Willie’s horror story of a mother, Sunny Soke. A super butch super bitch, Sunny raises the bar for the gang’s ambitions, while somehow lowering the standards of criminal behavior. Willie is further burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, played by Emmy Award-nominee CHRISTINA HENDRICKS, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel.

Bad Santa 2 was directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and hits theaters on November 23.
