311 Rocked GRDs End of Summer Party in Grand Rapids

311 were the headliners for "979 GRDs End of the Summer Party" at the GLC Live at 20 Monroe in downtown Grand Rapids and the show was amazing.

GRDs End of Summer Party

We here at WGRD feel its good to start and end the summer with a party and Sunday, September 4, at the GLC Live at 20 Monroe we along with the help of 311 and Tropidelic put an exclamation point on a great summer here in West Michigan.

Tropidelic

I have to admit that this was my first time seeing the opener Tropidelic but they just got a new fan. The band is in the same vein as 311 with the rock and reggae undertones but the band was fun and put on a great show.

Tropidelic is from Cleveland, Ohio, and is fronted by guitarist and singer Mathew Roads and rapper/trombone player James Begin. James is an excellent rapper and performer and was one of the highlights of the band's performance. They are coming to Kalamazoo so I may have to make a road trip and catch their headlining set.

I have always been a fan of 311 but this was actually the first time I have ever seen the band and they were incredible.

The guys in 311 are super nice guys who care a lot about their fans. 311 have been around for 34 years and they have a fan base that absolutely loves them and after seeing them I can see why. I will definitely go see them again.

311 really put together a setlist for the fans with a total of 21 songs that played out like a deluxe greatest hits album.

All in all, the fans had a blast with 311 as did my son and me. If you have not seen 311, put them on your band to-see list as well as Tropidelic.
