Woman Killed in Times Square Crash Identified as 18-Year-Old From West Michigan
A West Michigan teen was on a trip to New York City with her family Thursday when she was struck by a car on a sidewalk in an incident that sent at least 12 other people to the hospital.
The New York Post reports that 18-year-old Alyssa Elsman from Portage was killed in the crash.
Police do not believe that it was a terror attack, instead they have called it an accident.
The man driving the vehicle, 26-year-old Richard Rojas, reportedly made a U-turn down a car-free street, and then drove for several blocks, hitting more than a dozen people.
People from all over have begun posting condolences on Elsman's Facebook page.
