I feel like it's impossible to see the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and not smile. The iconic vehicle is shaped like a hot dog, and is 27 feet long, 11 feet tall, and weighs 6 tons.

It's been around since 1936, when when Carl Mayer, nephew of Oscar Mayer came up with the giant hot dog car that would travel the streets of Chicago and let everyone know about Oscar Mayer hot dogs.

There are actually six of the huge hot dogs that travel around the country - and we'll see one soon in West Michigan!

Where to see the Wienermobile in Grand Rapids

The Oscar Mayer Weinermobile will be in town this wee! Here 's where you can see it and get a photo with the iconic vehicle:

  • Friday, January 19 at the Knapp's Corner D&W at 2022 Apple Orchard Lane 10a.m. to 3p.m.
  • Saturday, January 20 at Forest Hills Foods at 4668 Cascade Road 10a.m. to 3p.m.

Want to Work as a Weinermobile Driver?

Oscar Mayer shared recently that its Wienermobile Spokesperson application is officially active. They're looking for 12 new "hotdoggers" to drive Wienermobiles around the country.

It's a one-year, fulltime gig paying $35,600.
