Your grill's worst nightmare has come to life for Memorial Day weekend with over 62,000 pounds of raw beef being recalled.

According to WZZM, the United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the Aurora Packing Company has recalled just over 62,000 pounds of raw beef that is suspected of being contaminated with E. coli.

The meat in question was packaged April 19, 2019 and will have the establishment number of "EST. 788." If you bought any meat to freeze around that time and since then you will want to check your packaging.

No one as of yet has complained of any health problems from the recalled meat but random testing did show E. coli and that is why the products have been pulled.

Although most people can recover within a week from exposure to E. coli, it still is a deadly bacterium that can cause abdominal cramps, bloody diarrhea and dehydration. If kids under 5 or older adults come in contact with E. coli they can suffer kidney failure that is called hemolytic uremic syndrome or HUS.

Check your meat packaging to make sure its not on the E. coli list and make sure you safely prepare your meat that you cook to 165 degrees before consumption.
