If you have old or unused prescription drugs, this Saturday in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

According to WOOD, Drug and Law enforcement agencies do this nationwide event twice a year, in the months of April and October, of collecting unused, unwanted and expired medication to combat prescription drug abuse.

Here is a link to statewide drop off locations, just type in your zip code and the closet location will pop up.

If you live near and know where a Michigan State Police location is, feel to drop off old drugs there between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday with no questions asked.

The locations statewide are not excepting inhalers, liquids, patches or syringes.

During the spring edition of the Drug Take Back Day, Michigan collected almost 24,000 pounds of old medications.

If you are busy Saturday during the hours of the program, the Michigan State Police will accept them anytime excluding holidays Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
