Many Michiganders have recently reported seeing the Northern Lights but that is not what was flying through the sky.

Many areas of Michigan provide great views of the stars on clear nights. I have been fishing a lot at night and my son and I have been seeing most of the planets and the constellations.

I had seen a few shooting stars over the last couple of weeks and caught one last night on the way home from work. Someone filmed a green light in the sky last night and I wondered what it was.

What Was That Green Light Shooting Through the Michigan Sky?

A Michigander got a video of a green light flying through the sky over Oscoda.

The meteor appeared to break up just when it got behind the trees.

I'm not alone in my theory.

Then it was good that someone got the green light on camera so others could see it.

I thought I was crazy for fishing at night in the cold but at least this poster was smart enough to build a fire.

Someone nearby got a look at the green light before it arrived in Oscoda.
