
Active Shooter Incident Reported at Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan
UPDATE 3/13: The suspect has been identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, a 41-year-old immigrant from Lebanon who who is a U.S. citizen.
The FBI called the attack a “targeted act of violence against the Jewish community," the Detroit Free Press reports.
UPDATE: At 2:26 p.m. NBC News reported two senior law enforcement officials have confirmed the suspect is dead.
A security guard was struck by the suspect's vehicle and injured. The guard is expected to recover.
No other injuries have been reported.

Authorities are actively responding to a reported shooting at Temple Israel Synagogue, located at 5725 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

The Michigan State Police have confirmed they are aware of the ongoing situation and are urging members of the community to avoid the area to allow law enforcement to safely manage the response. An alert was issued at 12:30p.m.
Police are also increasing patrols at other places of worship in the district as a precautionary measure.
FBI Director Kash Patel announced that federal agents are on site working alongside Michigan authorities, responding to what has been described as an apparent vehicle ramming followed by an active shooter situation.
According to NBC News, Farmington Hills Police and West Bloomfield Police are also on the scene, responding to a fire reported at the same location.
In response to the situation, Bloomfield Hills schools have been placed in “secure mode."
Officials continue to urge the public to stay clear of the area and follow updates from law enforcement for official information.
