The West Michigan Whitecaps might not be playing this season BUT there is still fun to be had at Fifth Third Ballpark.

With a lot of events canceled and indoor theaters still shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic, this is a great idea: Fifth Third Ballpark is going to be hosting outdoor movies this summer!

They're calling it "Moovies from the Mound" (it's presented by Milk Means More). So we're all invited to bring blankets and chairs to the field and watch movies on the big videoboard.

On upcoming Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, they'll be showing two family friendly movies each night.

Tickets are $35 per 12-foot by 12-foot plot and include 6 tickets; each plot is spaced more than 6 feet apart.

Your ticket gets you into one movie and if you want to stay for the second, you'll have to purchase a spot for both screenings.

Here's the schedule for Moovies on the Mound:

  • Thursday, July 30: 6:00pm - Frozen | 9:00pm - The Natural
  • Friday, July 31: 6:00pm - The Incredibles | 9:00pm - Angels In The Outfield
  • Saturday, August 1: 6:00pm - The Sandlot | 9:00pm - Field Of Dreams
  • Thursday, August 6: 6:00pm - Night at the Museum | 9:00pm - Forest Gump
  • Friday, August 7: 6:00pm - The Lion King (2019) | 9:00pm - The Karate Kid (1984)
  • Saturday, August 8: 6:00pm - Toy Story | 9:00pm - Jurassic Park

According to Wood TV 8 the number of tickets will be limited to maintain social distance, so the ballpark capacity will be at less than 8%.

Guests will be required to wear masks and will have their temperature taken before entering. You can find more of their COVID-19 safety measures here.

Food and drinks will be available to buy, but no outside food or beverages are allowed.
