Tony Hawk Spotted In Detroit, Hides Skateboard For Eagle-eyed Fans To Find
The first video game I ever owned was Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 for the PlayStation 1. My siblings and I spent hours unlocking the secrets of The Hangar, and I even had a poster of Tony Hawk on my bedroom wall for years. To no one's surprise, Tony has remained the coolest guy around.

Even at 58, he's still posting skating videos, and over the weekend he posted one of him riding in a pretty unexpected spot: the streets of Detroit. Not only was he cruising down one of Detroit's most recognizable streets, but he also left a little gift for those ambitious enough to find it.

Tony Hawk Hits 8 Mile, Leaves Behind Board
On Sunday, Tony posted an Instagram reel of himself riding a skateboard on 8 Mile Road and Southfield Freeway to "Lose Yourself", the street Eminem's acclaimed movie was named after. The surprise came at the end of the video when Tony looked like he was about to grind on a nearby pipe, but instead he launched a board into the grass.

The caption read, "What up Detroit! I left my skateboard at the city limits. You only get one shot...to find it. Do not miss your chance to...grind it?", inviting locals to search for the skateboard.
It didn't take long for the board to be found. The new owner posted a photo in the comments, and it appears to be a signed full skull foil Birdhouse skateboard from Tony Hawk's skateboard brand. This isn't the first time he's done this, either, as it's something he does often on social media.

Tony was in town for a charity event at the Detroit Opera House, joining a stacked lineup of fellow celebrities including Kristen Bell, J.K. Simmons, and more.
