We recently told you about two new restaurants opening in Grand Rapids - Condado Tacos and Las Carnitas El Cunado - we'll, here's a third!

Tia Juana Tacos, an authentic Mexican street-food taqueria, is now open at 2289 East Beltline Ave. NE at Knapp’s Crossing, near Celebration Cinema North.

A January 5, 2022, post to the restaurant's Facebook page says,

Soft Opening Announcement! Yay! We've made it! Tia Juana is officially open to the public! Everyone welcome for dine-in and Take-out. Looking forward to serving you all!

According to Grand Rapids Business Journal, an official grand opening is slated for February. Tia Juana owner Sandy Polanco tells GRBJ,

Even though they say restaurants are a tough business, I think Knapp’s Crossing needed a real taco place. So, we wanted to put an authentic taco place in town, and this was the best place for it.

Tia Juana's menu includes a variety of tacos, including chicken, asada (grilled steak), al pastor (marinated, grilled pork), birria (Tijuana-style beef birria), chorizo, plus veggie and vegan options.

Dinner options include deep fried chili rellenos, burritos, and Tijuana-style skirt steak.

You'll also find quesadillas and a variety of sides like refried beans, chips and guacamole, rice, and pickled vegetables.

Drink options include Horchata, Jarritos, and bottled Coke.

You can place a takeout order by calling  (616) 901-3316.

Current hours listed are Sunday through Thursday 11a.m. to 9p.m. and Friday and Saturday 11a.m. to 9p.m.
