On Thursday, the Marijuana Regulatory Agency (MRA) issued a recall on pot throughout parts of the state. No, it wasn’t laced and it wasn’t a bad batch. Instead, a worker at a processing center in Bay City decided to lick a pre-roll while making the product. The recall affects 3,200 pre-rolled joints.
The pre-rolls were sent to recreational and medical marijuana dispensaries in Bay City, Hazel Park, Detroit, Traverse City, Ann Arbor, Lansing, River Rouge, Ferndale, Quincy, Lowell, Negaunee, and Lapeer.
The affected product was sold between June and August 3rd.
In a statement made by MRA,

Consumers who have these contaminated pre-rolls in their possession should return them to the provisioning center or retailer where they were purchased for proper disposal.

I can’t help but laugh at that statement because there’s a high probability that the majority of people who did buy it, already smoked it. I understand why the recall was made, especially in the middle of a pandemic, but let’s be honest, potheads are probably too high to care.
It’s unknown how the state found out about the incident but according to MLive, MRA has been investigating the matter since July 31. The processing center ceased operations when the investigation began and their license has been suspended for 14 days.
Customers who have or are currently experiencing symptoms are asked to contact their doctor. Symptoms weren’t specified though. So I can only assume the following: heart racing, excessive hunger, forgetfulness, and paranoia. Calm down, you’re not dying. You’re just high.
Real talk though, if you smoke weed you know what’s normal and what isn’t. If something doesn’t feel right you can report it to the MRA by emailing them at MRA-enforcement@Michigan.gov or calling (517) 284.8599.
