A Michigan teacher has been accused of selling marijuana to a minor.

According to MLive, Genesee County teacher, 46-year-old James Zwerican, was arraigned Tuesday October 15 on 10 counts of delivery of marijuana to a minor.

Zwerican allegedly sold marijuana to a former Millington High School student that has since graduated but plant material, wax and a vaping device was allegedly sold to the minor during the time frame of April 2018 to February 2019 when the student was 17..

Police said they were alerted by a tipster. This was something that did not happen on school grounds so no current students are involved.

Zwerican is currently a 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Genesee Jr./Sr. High School but is currently on non-disciplinary administrative leave.

Investigators are looking to see if there are others that may be involved.

Reene said the investigation is continuing to try and find anyone else that may have been involved.

Zwerican is out on $10,000 bond but if convicted could face up to eight years in prison for each count.
