Record Store Day

Record Store Day has been known to be a time when unlikely collaborations are formed for rare releases. Hell, music in general has produced oddball pairings (Metallica and Lou Reed's Lulu, anyone?). One partnership that has me very intrigued is that of southern metal rockers Mastodon and Canadian singer/songwriter Feist.

The holidays are just around the corner and the retail Armageddon known as Black Friday will be upon us sooner than you think. Shoppers will stuff their faces on Thanksgiving and then wait in line for hours just to get a crappy DVD player for $20. Record Store Day 2011 is tomorrow, April 16, and there are quite a few bad ass merch that you can buy at your local record shop. It seems like every artist nowadays are willing to put out some kind of rare vinyl record for Record Store Day. Check out some of the more noteworthy releases after the jump.
