Today is the mighty Bruce Dickinson's birthday, and I'm glad he's come through the cancer scare well, and is getting back into fighting shape for the Iron Maiden tour next year. The band is also set to release the new Maiden album, 'The Book of Souls' on September 4th!

David Deaton is a 13-year-old from Howell, Mich. In a few days, he'll have surgery to repair the hole in his ear that’s causing partial hearing loss on his left side, the Detroit Free Press reports. David has already had several surgeries to repair a cleft lip and palate. With his 14th birthday approaching, David's mom, Heather Deaton, is asking for birthday cards for her son.

There's a Kickstarter campaign for something called the Joker Birthday Card. It's a musical card that does not stop playing its annoying "Happy Birthday" song until the battery dies or you break it. That is the point.

Warner Bros. owns the copyright on the "Happy Birthday" song. So, you can't sing it on TV or in a movie unless you pay the company a royalty. That's insane. But for this reason, a guy in North Carolina, Greg May, decided to write a NEW happy birthday song.

What a great birthday! I am now 29.... I feel more like 21 but whatever. Not only did Johnnie Walker bring me in a cake, but I drank a ton of Shorts Soft Parade and sang karaoke! Boom!
