Not One But THREE New Taco John’s Set to Open in West Michigan Next Month

UPDATE 12/31/2022: The new Taco John's on 28th St. is now open. The other two West Michigan locations now have opening dates of Feb. 6, 2023.

Taco John's Opening First Michigan Locations in Grand Rapids

Meritage Hospitality Group has signed a 200-store development agreement with Taco John’s. The restaurants are planned throughout the Midwest. This past summer we learned the first Taco John's location in the state would open on 28th St. at the site of the former Main St. Pub.

Meritage owns more than 350 restaurants in 16 states, including the Morning Belle Brunch restaurants and Stan Diego Taco locations in West Michigan.

Taco John's opened its first location in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1968. It has since expanded to almost 400 locations in 23 states. At one time there was a single Taco John's Michigan location - in Stevensville, in Berrien Count - However, that location has since closed and reopened as a new restaurant.

Where is Taco John's in West Michigan?

Grand Rapids Magazine reports that three area Taco John's restaurants are set to open in West Michigan next month:

• 1730 28th St. SW in Grand Rapids, opening Dec. 5
• 4029 32nd Ave. in Hudsonville, opening Dec. 12
• 6722 Broadmoor Ave. SE in Caledonia, opening Dec. 19

What Kind of Food Does Taco John's Serve?

Well yes, tacos, but so much more! Taco John's says they're different from other other fast food Mexican-inspired restaurants because they have a unique menu with quality made-to-order food.

Their menu includes crispy tacos, soft shell tacos, street tacos, burritos, fried chicken tenders, quesadillas, nachos, and taco salads.

One of Taco John's most popular items is their Potato Olés, round bites of crunchy potato, cooked fresh and sprinkled with their signature blend of bold spices.

Taco John's also serves breakfast burritos, the Potato Olés Scramber, and cold brew coffee.
