While trolling Facebook for something funny to look at, I found this article on insane but real statistics about fictional universes, like "Star Trek," "24," Disney movies, "Lord of the Rings," "The Lego Movie" and more!

It's a pretty cool article that gives you some amazing facts from these shows and movies you might have missed.

Like, for example, that Jack Bauer has killed 309 people over the course of nine days and two hours in the show "24." Or that the estimated value of Smaug's gold horde in The Hobbit is $62 billion!

But the one bit of information that got all the Geek Defenders out in force is the tidbit about Star Trek The Next Generation's friendly robot, Data. The above photo is just the beginning of the frantic defense -- the tip of the iceberg.

Enjoy all the great comments. It's like people can't just say, "Hey, so technology has surpassed what they thought it would when they made the show, but it's still a great show!"

Let's all defend Data because we don't want the fictional robot to get its feelings hurt.
