This September, there will be the first ever "Visual Doom AI" competition, to determine which AI will reign supreme at fragging other AI, and be able to not only figure out the levels by "sight" alone, but also race to the BFG!

A few months ago, Google's DeepMind found it's way through a Doom-type level by sight alone, finding apples and portals to score points. Now, the challenge is on to find other AI to compete with DeepMind in full-on Doom matches!

You can submit your AI for the competition by May 31st, so get to programming those AI to learn mazes and grab weapons!

The first round will be 10 matches in a known map, to see which AI can kick other AI ass with only a rocket launcher! That is going to be a freaking mess.

Then on to round two, where the AIs will head into a full-on DEATHMATCH, with multiple weapons and a few different, unknown levels to compete on!

The first round, the competitors will have access to the map codes to help the AI navigate, but in the second round, the AI will have to learn the maps on their own, "visually", with no prior access to data, to see if the AI are truly visually learning and battling it out!

Get more info on the competition, and enter your AI here. The hosts will provide software that gives real-time access to the screen buffer, so the AI you make can "see" the screen to make its decisions. So if you program in C++, Python, or Java, you can make an AI and see if it can reign supreme at Doom Deathmatch!

I just want to see AI like in Tron beating the s*** out of each other and chainsawing each other into pieces...that would be awesome. Stream that!
