A good day to enjoy Lake Michigan from a distance as today's storms are expected to bring nine-foot waves to the West Michigan shoreline and beyond.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids announced on Facebook that Tuesday afternoon's storms will produce waves that reach six to nine feet along the Lake Michigan shoreline north of Holland and four to six feet south of Holland.

Today's storms will also bring flooding and beach erosion. Piers will be very dangerous.
