Steven Adler to Celebrate ‘Appetite for Destruction’ on Tour
Steven Adler has taken the stage with the current "Not in This Lifetime" lineup of Guns N' Roses, but has not been a regular member of the tour which saw Axl Rose reunite with Slash and Duff McKagan. However, it appears that Adler is ready to do his own promotion celebrating 30 years of the classic Appetite for Destruction album by hitting the road with his reactivated band Adler's Appetite.
According to Alex Grossi, Adler's Appetite are currently booking touring that will focus on Adler's Guns N' Roses years, with the drummer's band reportedly set to play the Appetite album in its entirety. A social media post (seen below) from Grossi also suggests that Adler will play additional GN'R favorites such as "Patience," "Civil War," "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and "You Could Be Mine."
In our chat with Adler last fall, he recalled finally getting the opportunity to revisit GN'R songs with the "Not in This Lifetime" lineup. He says (as seen in the video below), “It was a dream come true to be able to play for so many people and get that kind of love. You get love in a club, but in a stadium when you’ve got 100,000 screaming your name, that’s a high you can just never come off of … It’s worse than heroin. It’s better and worse at the same time. [laughs]”
In addition to his return to the road, Adler has been working on a new book. He told us last fall at the Bowl for Ronnie benefit in Los Angeles that he has the clever title, Steven Adler: The Shit My Friends Remember I Did, where he'll allow others to share stories from his past exploits.
"Now that I’m sober I’m hearing all these stories of things I did and I’m completely blank. So all my friends are telling me stories ... and if you have a story where we’ve ever met anywhere around the world, it should be no less that 20 words and no more than 125 words. That’s how you can be a part of my history," explained the drummer, who added, with a smile, "Girls, there are plenty of girls around the world that I have to apologize to. I was drinking and using and I would say and do things that I would not normally do, so be gentle.”
At present, no dates have been revealed for Adler's Appetite, but we'll keep you up to date when the tour is announced.
