Sega is Sorry That They ‘Betrayed’ Their Fans [Video]
Sega was a juggernaut back in the 1990's, and I still love the Sega Genesis! It's one of my favorite video game consoles.
Over the years though, Sega has had some major downfalls, specifically the latest Sonic the Hedgehog games.
However, they want to win you back.
Sega CEO Hajime Satomi said that they are sorry for betraying their loyal fans over the years.
From Nintendo Life, Satomi had this to say:
"We did our best to build a relationship of mutual trust with older fans of SEGA, but looking back, there've been some titles that have partially betrayed that [trust] in the past 10 years.
Sega in the '90s was known for its 'brand, but after that, we've lost trust, and we were left with nothing but 'reputation'. For this reason, we'd like to win back the customers' trust, and become a 'brand,' once again."
After this he mentioned that they will be announcing something for home console at Tokyo Game Show.
Wouldn't it be the craziest thing if it was Dreamcast 2? This would never happen, but it would be crazy if they did.
My thought is that it will be some sort of throwback to their 1990's, which they have done already...plenty of times.
I'm hoping it's a refreshing new take on Sonic. Maybe Comix Zone? Streets of Rage? How about Phantasy Star?
Anything is possible I guess.
