Father, Son, Friend Hurt In A Michigan Lake Boat Blast

A father, his son, and a friend were seriously injured when the boat they were on exploded on a Michigan lake over the weekend.

Boat Explosion On A Michigan Lake Injures Three Seriously

According to WXYZ, a father, his son, and a friend were seriously injured on Pontiac Lake when the boat exploded on Sunday afternoon. By the time Search and Rescue, along with the Oakland County Sheriff deputies, arrived at the scene, the fire had burned out.

Unfortunately, a 45-year-old man, his 16-year-old son, and his son's 16-year-old friend were at a public boat launch when the boat exploded as they tried to start it. All three suffered severe burns, with the son's friend getting burns to 50 percent of his body and still in critical condition.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Department is still investigating why the boat exploded when the dad attempted to turn on the ignition.
