Vinnie Paul was laid to rest in a private ceremony this past Saturday (June 30) followed by a public memorial the next day (July 1) where fans were invited to attend and celebrate the life of the ex-Pantera and Hellyeah drummer. It was at the latter where many fellow musicians, including Paul's estranged Pantera bandmate Philip Anselmo paid tribute.

"Vince...always have love in my heart for you, man," Anselmo says in a submitted video at around the hour and 11 minute mark in the video from the proceedings below. "Rest in peace."

Paul was buried at the Moore Memorial Gardens cemetery in Arlington, Texas next to his late brother and bandmate, guitarist Dimebag Darrell, who died tragically in 2004, and their mother, who passed in 1999. Among the speakers at the private service were ex-Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, who can be seen in a picture from the ceremony below. There's also a photo of Paul's final resting place.

The public memorial for Paul was held at the Bomb Factory in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Texas, beginning at 3:33 PM. Fans who attended "Vinnie Paul: A Public Celebration Of Life" bore witness to many of Paul's peers, including Megadeth's Dave Mustaine, Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains and drummer Matt Cameron from Soundgarden and Pearl Jam pay their respects via video link.

News broke last Friday night (June 22) that drummer had died at the age of 54. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
