Owner of Three Grand Rapids Bars Sentenced to Prison Time for Tax Fraud
Michael Farah, owner three different bars in Grand Rapids, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for tax fraud.
WOOD-TV8 reports that 70-year-old Michael Farah, and his son Brian will both be spending time in federal prison for hiding sales from their three bars - Farah's, Drake's, and Kuzzin's - by deleting sales records.
Both Farahs must pay a $5,000 fine, and a combined $237,576.50 in restitution.
The younger Farah pled guilty to his charges in December and was sentenced to 13 months in prison.
While all three bars remain in business, WOOD-TV8 reports that the convictions could put their liquor licenses in jeopardy.
