Osgood Brewing Closes in Grandville

Sadly, after nearly a decade in business, Osgood Brewing in Grandville closed down this past September.

Owners cited the Covid-19 and staffing issues among the reasons for the closure. Well, now a new brewery is set to move in!

Oakestown Brewing Coming to Grandville

The owners of Harbor Light Brewing in South Haven, Mich., are expanding to Grandville with Oakestown Brewing.

Above is a look at Harbor Light Brewing. The new business is will be opening up in the former Osgood Brewing at 4051 Chicago Dr SW,. in Grandville. Oakestown will serve a wide variety of beer, cider, craft sodas and wine. Owners say,

We are excited to bring a gathering space to Grandville that will offer live music, board games, and never ending opportunities to make memories with friends, family and the community.

As far as the folks behind Oakestown Brewing, that includes a father daughter team with roots in Grandville.

According to a Facebook post, Tom (center) was a rugby coach in Grandville from 2007 through 2016. He says,

Call it the stars aligning, fate, faith, whatever you believe in.. we’re very excited to be in Grandville and have been welcomed with open arms. It’s more than the brews, it’s about community and collaboration.

His daughter, Carpenter is a 2015 Grandville grad and D1 competitive cheer state champion. She moved to Arizona to receive a bachelors and masters degree in Global Business.

I can’t say that I ever saw myself moving back to the Grandville area, but the city’s passion for embodying community made the decision incredibly simple. The opportunity to service Grandville and surrounding cities by offering a gathering space that brings in live music, great brews and eventually food will be incredibly rewarding. Plus, I get to do it alongside my Dad which is pretty awesome! We’re so excited to be here!
