The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids extended the Winter Weather Advisory for West Michigan through Sunday afternoon and evening, according to WWMT, depending on where you live.

WWMT says Mecosta, Montcalm, Ionia, Eaton, and Calhoun counties will see winter weather subside and the advisory end the earliest, Sunday, at 1 pm.  Oceana, Newaygo, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent and Barry counties will stay under their advisory until 4 pm.

As you travel south, the advisory extends later into the evening with Oceana, Newaygo, Muskegon, Ottawa, Kent and Barry counties under the winter weather advisory until 7 pm, and Berrien and Cass County until 10 pm Sunday night.

According to the National Weather Service:

Conditions will worsen this evening with increasing wind gusts, falling temperatures, and increasing lake effect snow. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph will lead to low visibility and blowing snow through Sunday morning. The high winds will also result in flooding and beach erosion for lakeshore communities.

That could cause flash freezing in some areas and well as dangerous travel through Sunday morning.
