Nominate Someone for Honor as High School Athlete of the Week

Meijer and 97.9 WGRD are saluting greater Grand Rapids' and West Michigan's outstanding student-athletes and their achievements by feting them as Meijer-97.9 WGRD High School Athlete of the Week during the 2014-2015 academic year.

However, we need your help to help us identify these outstanding student-athletes.

On a weekly basis from September through May -- with the exception of over the holidays, 97.9 WGRD and Meijer will select and announce the Meijer-97.9 WGRD High School Athlete of the Week. Those selected will be recognized with a plaque and showcased online by WGRD and hyped on air.

Nominations can be made by anyone -- coaches, teachers, administrators, athletic boosters, supporters or even proud parents, grandparents and friends.

Nominees must be submitted each week by noon Monday -- with the exception of Labor Day week next week, when the deadline is noon Tuesday.

The Meijer-97.9 WGRD High School Athlete of the Week will be announced each Wednesday during the 2014-2015 school year from September through May, except for the holiday weeks in late December.

Unfortunately, this program does not extend into the 2015-2016 school year. Thank you for your interest.
