Nickelback Named Biggest Musical Turnoff
Mention Nickelback to people and you'll get responses that can range from admiration to complete disdain. Few bands can command such polarizing opinions like the Canadian rockers, but if you're trying to get all hot and heavy with the object of your affection, don't admit that you're a fan. A new study shows that Nickelback songs are almost a guaranteed way to keep your pants on.
SPIN shared the results of a poll conducted by Tastebuds.fm, a dating site that matches users based on their musical preferences, and Nickelback topped the list of the 10 biggest musical turnoffs. They were followed by fellow Canadian artist Justin Beiber, whose appeal still boggles my mind. If you're older than 15 and listening to the Beibs, you don't deserve to get laid.
Other acts on the list include Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Coldplay (who Tastebuds revealed that their fans are the least likely to have sex on the first date), U2 and more. The full list can be found below.
Tastebuds broke down their poll results even further and posted the top 20 aural displeasures for men and women. The results were a little surprising. Aside from Lady Gaga and Ke$ha, girls weren't into Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Dave Matthews Band and Selena Gomez. The dudes' list included Oasis, Mumford & Sons, Eminem, Kanye West and Linkin Park.
On a related note, Nickelback will release their seventh studio album, Here and Now, on November 22.
